A certain important thing

我寫得一手差勁的中文字。最近開始練字，希望有日自己都能寫到好字，但說不定到時就會很懷念這手充滿稚氣的字跡。
I have a terrible Chinese handwriting. Recently I started practicing it and wish I could also write some beautiful words someday. But at that moment, I will probably miss this childish handwriting.

Below is my rough translation of this passage from Haruki Murakami (Sorry for my English. I couldn't find it anywhere else.)

All the people spend their whole lives searching for a certain important thing but there are not many who could find it. However if it is luckily found, the thing itself will be fatally wounded. Nonetheless, we still have to keep searching for it because if we don't do so, being alive will become meaningless.

During my first long distance flight, I was drawing.

昨天在找紙張去練習寫字時，我找到一本記事簿。裏面有幾幅我在2014年時第一次搭長途機時畫的畫。畫中主角主要都是我的飛機餐。

當時我仍是學生，前往德國的Darmstadt做4.5個月的交換生。我乘搭阿聯猶航，由香港國際機場出發到法蘭克福機場，中途在杜拜機場轉機。沿途我便一直在畫畫。

Yesterday I was looking for paper to practice my handwriting. Then I found a notebook with this set of pictures drawn during my first long-distance flight back in 2014. They are mostly the pictures of my airline meals.

I was still a student and was going to Darmstadt in Germany to stay for 4.5 months as an exchange student. I took Emirates Airlines from Hong Kong International Airport to Frankfurt Airport with a stopover in Dubai Airport. I was drawing along the way.

第一餐飛機餐。我記得飛機大約在12:XXam起飛。
The first airline meal. I remember my flight took off att 12:XXam.

第二餐飛機餐。當時餐單上仍有繁體中文字。
The second airline meal. There were still traditional Chinese on the menu.

在杜拜機場轉機時。我記得當時自己不敢在機場拍照，因為聽聞有人在杜拜影了某些東西的相後被捕。
During my stopover in Dubai Airport. I remembered I dared not to take any photos in the airport as I heard that there were people arrested in Dubai because they took photos of something.

第三餐飛機餐。餐單上已經沒有繁體中文字了。我記得當時亦已沒有任何亞洲人樣子的空中服務員，而我亦是小數中的其中一位亞洲乘客。
The third airline meal. There were no more traditional Chinese on the menu. I remembered there were no more asian flight attendants and I was one of the few asian passengers on the plane.

最後一餐飛機餐。我記得自己很喜歡那個Lamb Machbous.
The last airline meal. I remembered I liked the Lamb Machbous quite a lot.

我差點忘記了。這4.5個月時間影響了我不小。
I nearly forgot. These 4.5 months of time affected me a lot.

March comes in like a lion

香港的Lomography送了一筒新出但限量發售的彩色菲林F2/400給我試用。但據說已經全數售罄。如果你想試用，那就真的很可惜。

這筒ASA 400菲林其實是Lomo在2010年從意大利一間菲林製造商購得 -- 被我忽略了的一點，加上最近香港都一直在下雨和有很多雲，最後所有相都低曝了。很可惜我不能把這卷菲林最佳的狀態表現出來。

p.s. 我已經調較了這些相的光暗。

Lomography Hongkong has gifted me a roll of them newly-but-limited release Color Negative Film F2/400. But I also heard that they have been completely out of stock. Such a shame if you want to try them out.

This ASA 400 film were actually bought by Lomo from an Italian filmmaker in 2010 -- something I missed out. Plus recently it has been cloudy and rainy in Hongkong. These photos ended up underexposed. It's sad that this film is not performed at its best.

p.s. I have adjusted these photos' lightness.

我間中都有在一間幫助流浪狗的機構做義工。今次都是第一次用單反替狗狗拍照，但它們不停地移動，很困難呢。
I have been volunteering at an organisation that helped stray dog but it's my very first time to to take photos of the dogs with my SLR. But it's difficult to take the photos as they kept moving.

下一個早晨，我們早起到附近的大金鐘山去行山。當時太大霧了，看不到日出。/ In the next morning, we woke up early to hike to the nearby Pyramid Hill. It's too foggy that we couldn't see the sunrise.
