這個城市位於南哈薩克的山區，座落在外伊犁阿拉套山的山腳，海拔有 700 至 900 米高。

最喜歡阿拉木圖的東西就是這個山景。即使在市中心，我仍能清楚地看見這座雪山（有兩天很大霧，看不清），而且看起來非常近，感覺太不真實了。很懷念這種感覺。

According to Wikipedia:

The city is located in the mountainous area of southern Kazakhstan in the foothills of the Trans-Ili Alatau at an elevation of 2,300–3,000 feet (700–900 m).

This mountain view is the thing I like the most about Almaty. Even within the city, I could see the glacier clearly (but there were 2 days very foggy) which seemed so close to me, feeling too unreal to me. I miss this feeling.

Alma-Ata

我去了哈薩克斯坦的舊首都阿拉木圖一星期。這個城市以前的名字是Alma-Ata。有一個當地人告知，Alma意思是蘋果，Ata是爺爺。很可愛的名字。我還影了很多相，所以接下來又有一段時間這個空間的相片都會是旅遊照了。

四日前我還在那個地方，現在我卻在這裏。

I went to the old capital of Kazakhstan, Almaty and stayed for a week. The old name of this city is Alma-Ata. As told by a local, Alma means apple and Ata means grandfather. What a cute name. Anyway I have taken quite a lot of photos so there will be a period of time that this space is filled up with many travel photos again.

I was still there 4 days ago but now I am here.

Recollection of memories

之前都寫過的一段字，非常喜歡。

真的很想自己寫到手好字，但最近即使有空餘時間都拿去準備明天開始的一星期之旅，沒有時間練習。

I wrote this text before and like it very much. Translation:

The sad truth is that what I could recall in 5 seconds all too soon needed 10, then 30, then a full minute - like shadows lengthening at dusk. Someday, I suppose, the shadows will be swallowed up in darkness.

I want to have a good Chinese handwriting so badly but recently I use all my spare time to prepare for the trip which will start tomorrow, lacking time to practice.

我極小聽廣東歌，一直以來都是聽外語歌。但最近我開始聽廣東歌，不過全部都是舊歌來的。而這幾首歌是三套我很喜歡的港產片配樂 -- 阿郎的故事、重慶森林和金枝玉葉。

I rarely listen to Canto songs and have always been listening to foreign music. But recently I started listening to Canto music but they are all old songs. These few songs are from 3 of my favourite Hong Kong movies' soundtracks -- All About Ah Long, Chungking Express and He's a Woman, She's a Man.

蝶戀花 / Butterfly loves flower

我已很努力寫得整齊點，但最後仍寫到亂七八糟。

這首詩還有另一半，但我只喜歡這一半。

I tried so hard to write neatly but it still ended up looking awful.

This poem's title is 蝶戀花 which means butterfly loves flower. It has a upper half but I only like this half. It is a poem of Ouyang Xiu from the Song Dynasty. This time I am not going to translate it because it's too difficult to translate a Chinese poem. Literally it is similar to the English saying that goes "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" but has much more emotion and much stronger aura.

It is a shame that you can't read traditional Chinese and understand how much I like this poem.
